Terms of use

By installing and using the Telepult.Web extension, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install the extension or remove it.

1. What Telepult.Web is

Telepult.Web is a free browser extension by a private developer. It processes your own video stream and audio right in the browser during a video call: backgrounds, masks, stickers, captions, a teleprompter and other effects.

The extension is not affiliated with the owners of video call services and does not modify their servers. How data is handled is described in the privacy policy.

2. Your obligations

Follow the law and the terms of use of the video call service you use.
Warn the others if effects may mislead them: vanishing from the frame, a still frame, Live Photo, a business card instead of the camera.
Get people’s consent if you save or share their image: group photos, collages, wheel of fortune frames, screenshots.
Do not use the extension for deception, impersonation, harassment, discrimination or violating the rights of others.
Upload only images, videos, sounds and stickers you have the rights to.

3. The polygraph is entertainment, not a measuring device

The Polygraph feature (Excitement and Lie detector modes) is a visual joke for calls. It estimates your pulse from barely visible changes in skin color in the frame and draws a meter or a caption over the video.

The polygraph is not a medical device. It does not measure your pulse with medical accuracy, does not diagnose anything and does not replace a doctor’s advice. If you are worried about your health, see a doctor.
The polygraph does not detect truth or lies. The “Lie!” caption only means that the pulse estimate went above the chosen threshold — it is a game effect.
Readings depend on light, movement, the camera and video compression and may be random or wrong.
Do not use polygraph results for decisions about people: hiring, firing, honesty checks, medical, insurance, legal or any other significant matters.
In Everyone mode the joke badge is visible to the others. Tell them it is a game and do not use the feature against a person’s will.
The pulse estimate is computed locally in the browser, is not stored and is not sent anywhere.

4. Other entertainment features

The wheel of fortune picks a participant at random; masks, frame styles, clones, sounds and stickers are for fun. Do not use them for decisions with legal, financial or other serious consequences.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

The extension is provided free of charge, “as is” and “as available”. The developer does not guarantee that it will work without errors, on every device and platform, stay compatible with future versions of browsers and call services, or suit your purposes.

6. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for direct or indirect damage from using or being unable to use the extension: disrupted meetings, data loss, the consequences of decisions made based on its features, or the actions of users.

7. Third-party materials

The extension and the website use 3D models, images, stickers, sounds and libraries by third-party authors under their licenses. Authors and licenses are listed on the Credits and licenses page.

8. Changes

These terms may be updated together with the extension. The current version is always available at this address.
