FAQ

Do captions work offline?

Speech recognition is done by the browser, so you need an internet connection — just like for the call itself.

Are the other participants’ words translated?

Yes, since version 6.1. Under Whose speech, choose Others or Everyone — the remote captions and translates the speech from the call audio.

Are there captions in Firefox?

No. Firefox lacks the speech recognition it needs; effects, backgrounds and masks work there.

Is it free?

Yes, the extension is completely free.
